The 7th ASCAAD International Conference ASCAAD 2014 will be held at the Department of Architecture, Effat University, Jeddah, The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.
Effat University is the first female educational entity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and today, one of the leading universities in the region. It was founded in 1999 in Jeddah and named after Her Royal Highness Queen Effat, wife of King Faisal. The University aims to bring academic excellence to local women and become a community resource for future generations in their quest for progress and self-development.
The city of Jeddah is located on the coast of the Red Sea and is the major urban center of western Saudi Arabia. It is the largest city in Makkah Province, the largest sea port on the Red Sea, and the second largest city in Saudi Arabia after the capital city, Riyadh. With a population currently at 3.2 million, Jeddah is an important commercial hub in Saudi Arabia. Jeddah is the principal gateway to Mecca. Getting to Jeddah:
The major port of arrival into Jeddah is King Abdulaziz International Airport. The airport's website provides further information on how to get to and from the airport. The trip from the airport to the city centre and the conference recommended hotel is 25 minutes. The airport is well connected with flights from all over the world.
Visa Requirements:
All attendants who are not nationals of a GCC member state (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and UAE) will require a Visa. The host institution will coordinate the process. Participants need to contact the organising committee for further details.

The first hotel is 10 minutes drive from the conference venue, but is 5 minutes walk from the coast. The second hotel is 5 minutes walk from Effat University. Please find on the maps, below, the location of the hotels and Effat University.
The hosting institution (Effat University) will arrange buses for group transportation during the days of the conference to-and-from the hotels mentioned above, in the morning and at the end of conference day. Participants can get to the conference venue using public transportation.
